IRONSTONE GULLY FALLS

Public BBQ

Ironstone Gully Falls along Goodwood Road between Capel and Donnybrook reveals itself as a delightful surprise. The modest waterfall may not thunder year-round, but after decent rains it transforms this bushland setting into something quite enchanting. A well-appointed rest stop features barbecue facilities and picnic tables under established trees, plus clean toilet facilities, a thoughtful touch for families. Short walking trails wind through native bushland where wildflowers emerge seasonally and curious tadpoles inhabit the upper pools. While some arrive hoping for dramatic cascades and leave slightly underwhelmed during dry spells, most appreciate this historical site's tranquil atmosphere. The location strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and seclusion. Timing your visit after winter rains often delivers an almost mystical quality to the surroundings.
