Public BBQ

A quiet picnic area on the bay in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, well maintained and surprisingly underused, with gas barbecues, a good number of tables - some under cover - sheds, and a fine shaded bench under a big tree. The toilets are old but clean, and parking is easy. The view over the water is the reason to come, and it is a popular spot for kayaking and fishing, leather jackets mostly. Be clear about the limits: there are no bush tracks, no easy access to the water on foot, no rubbish bins at all so everything you bring goes home with you, and only gas barbecues are permitted, with no coal or solid fuel. Entry is a $12 vehicle day pass and the gates close after 7pm. Restaurants are not far away.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Northern Beaches council.

You should first check with Northern Beaches council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
