HILLTOP PARK

Public BBQ

Hilltop Park sprawls across Ormeau Hills like a well-planned village green, thoughtfully designed for families seeking more than the usual swing-and-slide routine. The park cleverly segregates activities - toddlers can navigate miniature climbing structures while older children tackle the impressive spider web apparatus and lighthouse tower. A meandering rock river provides natural stepping stones between play zones, adding an adventurous element that keeps kids engaged for hours. Basketball courts and tennis facilities cater to sporting enthusiasts, though recent vandalism has left the golf driving nets looking rather forlorn. The undercover BBQ areas and clean toilet facilities make extended visits practical, while the expansive oval invites impromptu games of cricket or football. Traffic-free pathways wind throughout, making it equally appealing for dog walkers and families with prams.
