HERITAGE PARK

Public BBQ

Heritage Park in Lismore has undergone the sort of thoughtful revitalisation that demonstrates how public spaces can genuinely evolve with community needs. The recent upgrades have transformed what was once a pleasant but aging facility into something genuinely impressive, with modern playground equipment that successfully balances adventure with safety. The heritage train ride remains the park's signature attraction, offering excellent value at just four dollars for two circuits - a refreshingly reasonable price that makes family outings genuinely affordable. The combination of extensive play equipment, water features, and shaded picnic areas creates one of those rare parks that can easily occupy families for entire afternoons. While some practical elements like paving repairs remain outstanding, and the barbecue plates require more frequent cleaning, the overall experience represents genuine progress in community recreation. The wheelchair accessibility and proximity to the information centre add practical value that extends beyond mere playground equipment.
