HAMMON PARK OVAL

Public BBQ

After driving an hour through Victoria's rolling countryside, I arrived to find Creswick Council has created something genuinely special at Hammon Park Oval on Moore Street. The pump track is absolutely brilliant - a serpentine ribbon of perfectly banked curves that had kids grinning from ear to ear as they carved through its undulating surface. The bike courses cater to everyone from wobbly toddlers to serious BMX enthusiasts, while the playground and well-maintained barbecue facilities make this a proper family destination. The thoughtful addition of a bike repair station shows someone's been thinking practically about cyclists' needs. Public toilets and picnic areas complete the picture nicely. Yes, some locals fret about flood risks, but for now this facility represents exactly the sort of forward-thinking community investment that transforms a simple oval into a regional drawcard.
