GULGONG ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

Stumbled upon Gulgong Adventure Playground during the drive from Sydney - what a find for families needing a proper stretch. The playground's practically brand new, with equipment catering to everyone from toddlers to teenagers, plus thoughtful accessibility features for disabled children. Two barbecue areas and picnic tables make it perfect for a leisurely lunch stop, while the undercover playing area and sound play equipment add nice touches. Fair warning though - some kit like the flying foxes has been removed and there's a chained-off green teepee that'll disappoint the kids. The rain protection's a bit questionable too; expect water splashing about even under cover. Still, it's a solid playground that'll tire out the little ones before continuing the journey north.
