GLENSIDE PARK PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

A newly built playground at Glenside set on the edge of a sunken green, with plenty of climbing, slippery dips and a netted bridge that children make straight for. A pavilion up the hill holds barbecue facilities with a fine view back down over the play area, and there is a half basketball court beside it, fitness equipment, and a large neat lawn behind for kicking a footy. The design muffles the traffic on the busy road alongside remarkably well, and it feels safe and secure. Parking is easy on the roadside. The one glaring omission, raised by almost everyone, is that there are no toilets anywhere near it.
