GLADSTONE PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away behind the red-roofed hall in this charming Tasmanian town, Gladstone Park proves that sometimes the best discoveries come from local recommendations. The park sits conveniently opposite the General Store and behind the pub, making it perfectly positioned for a proper country town experience. What immediately struck me was the immaculate condition of everything. The toilet block is genuinely spotless, complete with soap and attractive murals,a pleasant surprise that speaks volumes about local pride. The barbecue facilities are equally well-maintained, making it an ideal lunch stop for families or weary travellers. The children's playground equipment and picnic tables create a welcoming family atmosphere, while thoughtful lighting ensures the space feels safe after dark. A fascinating time capsule near the entrance hints at the town's rich history. The park's practical advantages are considerable: easy access for towed vehicles, reliable internet courtesy of a nearby Telstra hotspot, and walking distance to essential services including the servo, hotel, and various shops. The free camping arrangement reflects genuine country hospitality.
