GAFFNEY STREET PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

A rocket-ship themed playground beside the lake at Coburg, with two huge slides, swings, a climbing gym and a smaller space-themed section for little ones. Two more playgrounds sit around the lake, which is enough to tire most children out. There are picnic areas and barbecue facilities, plenty of green grass to lie on, and a path along the water that makes for a pleasant walk with good birdlife. Sydney Road and its restaurants are close enough to pick up food and bring it back. The one recurring complaint is litter left behind after gatherings.
