FOUNTAIN VALLEY RESERVE

Public BBQ

Fountain Valley Reserve centres around a lively creek and lake system teeming with ducks, ducklings (especially in breeding season), and occasional pelicans. The water feature includes rocks near a tunnel where kids enjoy climbing, and benches offer peaceful spots to watch the birdlife. A playground sits nearby, though equipment shows its age with flexing swings and a spring-mounted roundabout that some find past its prime. The reserve welcomes dogs and offers a BBQ area with open space for families. Fishing produces mainly small catfish in the 15-35cm range. Parking is limited, particularly at the South Road entrance where spaces fill quickly. The lack of fencing around the water raises safety concerns for toddlers. Road noise intrudes due to proximity to traffic. Signage is poor, making the reserve difficult to identify. Bins require more frequent servicing. Despite these issues, the reserve remains popular for quick walks and duck-watching.
