FORT GELLIBRAND

Public BBQ

Fort Gellibrand sits along Williamstown's waterfront with ocean views across Port Phillip Bay. The playground features a wooden structure with twin slides and swings, though the equipment shows its age with noisy swings needing maintenance and weathered timber in need of paint. The rubber matting underneath has seen better days. Multiple BBQ hotplates and picnic tables are scattered throughout the reserve, though most seating lacks shade. The spot stays relatively quiet and uncrowded, making it popular with families seeking a relaxed atmosphere away from busier parks. A cycle and walking track runs along the rocky beach, and parking is plentiful. The location can be exposed to wind during winter and spring months.
