Public BBQ

A delightful small local park at Ascot Park, upgraded in 2019 into a nature playground with simple wooden equipment, a swing set, First Nations carvings and a beautiful mural. Its triangular shape with only one open side makes it feel unusually secure. Trees and shrubs down one side open into small clearings, one with log seating and a little stage, and there are citrus trees towards the back. A barbecue sits beside a shaded picnic table. Dogs need to be on lead, as the play equipment is spread throughout. The one gap, raised by nearly everyone, is the lack of a toilet.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Marion council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

We do also list wood fired BBQs on this site, so check the above descriptions and photos to be prepared.

You should first check with Marion council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
