FIG LANE PARK

Public BBQ

Nestled in Pyrmont's urban fabric, Fig Lane Park presents an intriguing paradox,a tranquil green refuge that somehow coexists with Sydney's vehicular symphony. The park's thoughtfully designed playground caters to various ages, with smaller children safely corralled within fenced boundaries while older kids roam free across the generous grassy expanse. Free electric barbecues beckon families to linger, positioned strategically near sturdy benches that offer pleasant views toward the Anzac Bridge's graceful span. The paved pathway circling the central lawn serves an unexpected dual purpose as an ideal bicycle training ground, complete with gentle slopes that transform tentative wobbles into triumphant pedalling victories. Dog owners appreciate the park's welcoming policy, though vigilant footwork becomes essential when navigating the grass. Equipment upgrades in late 2021 brought fresh swings and climbing apparatus, maintaining the site's appeal for neighbourhood families. The location's proximity to Darling Harbour proves both blessing and curse, convenient accessibility countered by the persistent hum of nearby highways. During peak hours, diesel fumes can overwhelm sensitive visitors, making early morning or late afternoon the optimal times for extended stays.
