EUREKA STOCKADE GARDENS

Public BBQ

Eureka Stockade Gardens combines historical significance with family recreation at this tree-filled park in Ballarat. The site marks a pivotal moment in Australian history where the colony challenged Queen Victoria's reign, with cannons and memorial elements scattered throughout the grounds. The playground sits next to the Eureka Centre museum and swimming pool, featuring multiple play elements suitable for various ages. Families spend hours here with hide and seek among the trees, playground adventures, and battles near the historical cannons. The pond attracts curious kids. Facilities include BBQ areas, toilets, picnic tables, a rotunda, and ample parking. Autumn brings bonus colour to the established trees. Recent reviews note maintenance concerns with toilets and playground cleanliness, and some visitors found the play area smaller than expected. The historical barricade fence was recently removed, which disappointed some visitors. Entry to the museum runs about $18 for two adults and two kids.
