EUNGELLA TERRACE PARK

Public BBQ

This modest park along Blunder Creek offers a surprisingly rewarding escape from busier Forest Lake spots. The centrepiece is a small pond that attracts spoonbills, egrets, and resident ducks eager for a feed, always a couple loitering about with easy waterside access. The bushland setting feels genuinely natural, particularly after recent weed removal revitalised the water's edge. Walking tracks thread through the area, connecting to other play spaces and underutilised picnic tables scattered along the route. The public barbecue sits in a pleasant spot for lakeside dining, though the lack of nearby toilets proves inconvenient. Play equipment runs sparse, swings, a climbing wall, leap-frog poles, and an earthen mound, but children find plenty of entertainment chasing waterbirds while adults appreciate the peaceful atmosphere. The real appeal lies in combining a solid fitness walk with wildlife watching, all without the crowds that descend on Forest Lake proper.
