ELLEN BACKHOUSE PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Willow Street in the heart of Queensland's farming country, Ellen Backhouse Park offers a genuine slice of small-town Australia. This unpretentious park delivers the essentials without fanfare - public toilets that do the job and barbecue facilities that get families fed. The setting captures that quintessential regional Queensland atmosphere where cattle outnumber tourists and the pace slows to match the countryside. It's the sort of place where locals gather for weekend barbies and visitors discover what authentic country hospitality looks like. Don't expect bells and whistles; expect honest facilities in a town that knows how to keep things simple and welcoming.
