EDMUND AND GEORGE BIGGS PARK

Public BBQ

Edmund and George Biggs Park in Nambour proves that sometimes the best barbecue spots are the ones that don't try too hard. This unassuming patch of grass manages to be both refreshingly simple and mildly exasperating. The grounds can get a bit overgrown - apparently the council subscribes to the "natural look" school of maintenance - but this actually adds to its relaxed charm. What elevates this spot beyond mere grass appreciation is its proximity to Humdrum Cafe, making it brilliantly convenient for grabbing decent coffee to accompany your barbie. The kids seem to love the open space for running around, and the quiet atmosphere means you won't be competing with crowds for the BBQ facilities. It's the kind of place that reminds you that sometimes the best Australian BBQ experience isn't about fancy equipment or manicured gardens.
