EAST CANNINGTON PARK

Public BBQ

A large, well-tended grassed reserve at East Cannington, with a cricket pitch in the middle that takes both leather and softball games, a fenced playground by the road, a barbecue, water fountains and toilets. Quiet streets border two sides and small private paddocks the others, with a horse or two for company. It is a favourite for evening walks, and the sunsets, with planes taking off in the distance, are part of the appeal. The open ground suits dog exercise, though it is not fenced, so recall matters. Drainage works have been under way, closing off parts of the reserve and the toilets at times. Dog mess on the grass is the standing complaint.
