DUSTHOLE BAY

Public BBQ

Dusthole Bay offers a solid boat ramp on the Hawkesbury River, wide enough for two or three vehicles to launch simultaneously. The facilities are well-equipped with a marina, shop for fishing gear hire, and a small park with tables and a separate play area for kids. Parking can be tight on busy days, though quieter periods make access easier. The ramp itself works best when launching from the right side, as the wharf's sandstone wall becomes tricky to manage in windy conditions. The location sits in a 4-knot zone for a kilometre or two from the ramp. One major draw is the complete lack of Optus reception, making it ideal for those wanting to disconnect while fishing. The tranquil waterside setting provides good access to different parts of the Hawkesbury. Waste management has been an issue, with bins reportedly full and smelly during peak times.
