DUNSTAN RESERVE

Public BBQ

Dunstan Reserve presents a well-maintained community hub that successfully balances diverse recreational needs within Brunswick West. The park features dual soccer ovals complemented by outdoor gym equipment, though one pitch remains restricted for public use. Dog walkers dominate the morning hours while sports teams claim the afternoons, creating distinct usage patterns throughout the day. The community vegetable garden and food forest provide opportunities for local engagement, while basketball courts and walking pathways accommodate additional activities. Despite occasional council works limiting access to certain areas, the reserve maintains two public toilets and club facilities. Evening lighting remains minimal except during scheduled matches, making nighttime navigation challenging. The combination of playground equipment, sports facilities, and community gardens creates a genuinely multi-purpose destination that serves various neighbourhood demographics effectively.
