DUKE STREET RESERVE

Public BBQ

Duke Street Reserve stands out among Melbourne's dog parks as a surprisingly tranquil escape where canine companions can roam freely within secure fencing. The spacious grounds offer genuine shade beneath established trees - a rarity in off-leash facilities that typically resemble barren paddocks. During quieter periods, visitors often find themselves with exclusive use of the entire area, creating an almost private park experience. The layout maximises space while maintaining safety, though winter transforms the grounds into a muddy obstacle course that tests both paws and boots. Parking proves reliable, and the well-behaved canine clientele reflects the thoughtful dog owners who frequent this spot. The absence of toilets requires advance planning, but this minor inconvenience hardly diminishes what many consider their dog's favourite local haunt.
