DRUMMOND COVE

Public BBQ

This is a free overnight camping spot near the beach with 5 marked parking spaces for self-contained vehicles. The location sits right on the waterfront and offers sunset views, making it a popular last-minute option for travellers who couldn't get into caravan parks. Clean toilets are available 24/7, though shower facilities have been removed. A water tap services the camping spots. Competition for spaces is real. Arriving before 5pm gives you the best shot at snagging one of the official spots. Rangers patrol around 7:20am and enforce the rules strictly with cameras monitoring the area. Park outside the marked yellow spaces and you'll cop a $100 fine. No caravans or ground tents allowed, self-contained vehicles only. The signage could be clearer about where you can and can't park, which has caught some people out. Despite the strict enforcement, it serves its purpose well as a free stopover between destinations along the WA coast.
