DOUG LARSEN PARK

Public BBQ

Doug Larsen Park in Beenleigh has undergone a significant transformation courtesy of Logan Council's recent investment in early 2025. Fresh plantings now line the waterfront, and a substantial new playground anchors the centre of the park, joining the existing play equipment that draws families throughout the week. The lakeside setting offers opportunities to observe ducks, pelicans, and various waterfowl, with a dedicated deck extending over the water for closer viewing. A circuit path accommodates both cyclists and walkers, punctuated every 50 metres with exercise equipment and shaded rest areas. Facilities include covered picnic tables, toilets adjacent to ample parking, and barbecues. The park also features a half basketball court and skatepark. The multiple playground zones cater to various ages, including equipment suitable for younger toddlers, with swings, slides, and trampolines. While the location benefits from its scenic edge-of-town position, visitors note the space could benefit from additional maintenance attention and safety measures.
