DEANS MARSH RECREATION RESERVE

Public BBQ

One of the best village recreation grounds in the district, built around a footy and cricket oval with tennis courts to one side. Plenty of trees give good shade, the toilets are clean and properly stocked with paper and soap, and there is a barbecue and a playground that keeps children occupied. Two things set it apart: a community wood-fired pizza oven, and a bar that opens when the cricket is on. The reserve also hosts the local market, which brings music, food stalls and coffee and makes for a very pleasant Sunday. Dogs are welcome and it makes an excellent comfort stop for anyone passing through.
