CURRIE PARK

Public BBQ

Currie Park offers a pleasant escape along Nambour's Windflower Walk, where families can fire up the barbecue facilities amid established gardens. The playground shows its age and could use some attention, but still keeps the kids entertained while parents prepare lunch. What strikes you most is the park's dual personality - sunny open spaces perfect for weekend parkrun events, alongside shaded walking paths that provide respite on hot Queensland days. The location has clearly evolved over the decades (one visitor mentioned marrying here 40 years ago), yet retains its charm as a reliable spot for children's parties and family gatherings. While not the most polished park you'll encounter, it delivers the essentials: working BBQ facilities, adequate parking, and enough space for everyone to spread out. The proximity to local shops adds convenience, though don't expect anything fancy - this is honest, no-frills outdoor dining at its most practical.
