CRANWELL PARK PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

Perched along Cranwell Street in Braybrook, this expansive park delivers stunning Maribyrnong River views that genuinely take your breath away. The playground itself is brilliantly designed for older children, with equipment that actually challenges rather than coddles - a refreshing change from the usual plastic mediocrity. The BBQ facilities sit conveniently roadside, though one can't help but notice the council's peculiar decision to provide excellent grilling stations while completely forgetting that humans require toilets. It's rather like building a beautiful car without brakes - functionally incomplete. The walking paths are well-maintained and connect seamlessly to the river trail, making it an ideal launching point for longer riverside adventures. Families arrive with grand picnic plans, only to discover there's not even a tap for water - a stunning oversight that transforms a perfect family destination into something requiring military-level logistical planning. Despite these glaring omissions, the sheer beauty of the location and quality of the play equipment keep drawing visitors back, proving that sometimes nature's generosity can compensate for bureaucratic shortsightedness.
