CORNUBIA ADVENTURE PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away in Shailer Park beside the local sports centre, Cornubia Adventure Park offers a refreshingly authentic neighbourhood experience that's becoming increasingly rare around Brisbane. The playground equipment has genuine character - including those wonderfully nostalgic pedal-powered spinning contraptions that seem to have vanished from most parks. While the facilities show their age (some equipment clearly needs council attention), there's something endearing about its lived-in feel. The BBQ facilities and basketball half-court provide decent family entertainment, though you'll want to plan toilet stops elsewhere. Despite maintenance quirks, watching kids genuinely enjoy the swings and unique play equipment reminded me why sometimes the best parks aren't the flashiest ones. A solid local gem that deserves better upkeep.
