CONCOURSE PARK

Public BBQ

McCorkells Lagoon offers a surprisingly tranquil barbecue experience in suburban Brisbane's south. The undercover BBQ area overlooks the scenic lagoon, where visitors can watch water birds and occasional large lizards while their sausages sizzle. Well-maintained walking trails wind around the water's edge, perfect for working up an appetite or burning off lunch. The picnic shelter provides both seating and BBQ facilities, creating an ideal spot for families seeking a peaceful outdoor meal. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the resident ducks and varied birdlife, though feeding the waterfowl draws mixed reactions from other park users. While the lagoon occasionally suffers from litter, this underutilised gem remains a lovely escape from urban life, offering different moods whether visited on sunny or overcast days.
