CHELSEA ROAD PARK

Public BBQ

Chelsea Road Park offers an unvarnished waterside experience along Tingalpa Creek where fishing enthusiasts converge at a well-positioned observation platform. The platform features a fish cleaning table and creek access via boat ramp, popular for targeting incoming tides with live bait. An undercover barbecue area sits nearby with sheltered seating, though toilets are completely absent. Modest walking trails wind through scrubland, attracting wildlife watchers who appreciate ocean breezes and natural quiet. Weekday parking proves ample, while Sunday afternoons draw crowds. Fair warning: mosquitoes are relentless,Aeroguard isn't optional. The setting stays beautifully peaceful for night fishing sessions. Unfortunately, illegal dumping has marred the area, with abandoned vehicles and scattered rubbish detracting from what regulars remember as a nicer spot. Visitors must pack out waste as bins aren't provided. Despite maintenance issues, the location continues serving as a low-key fishing and relaxation venue for those who don't mind muddy water views and Queensland's persistent insect population.
