CAROLINE CHISHOLM PARK

Public BBQ

A small park whose main feature is four hire tennis courts, priced below others in the area and very conveniently placed — the shopping centre is directly opposite and buses to Parramatta stop right outside. Court quality is uneven and worth knowing before booking: two have been resurfaced and play well, while the older pair are worn and patched, with loose sand that makes them slippery enough to have caused falls. Lighting is incomplete, with one of the four lights out. There is also a fenced children's playground, which keeps little ones contained. Toilets are the weak point — often locked or unavailable — so most people end up using the shopping centre across the road.
