BURNIE WATERFRONT

Public BBQ

Burnie Waterfront sits right in the centre of town, offering a solid combination of beach access and family facilities. The beach itself is clean and surprisingly peaceful, with crystal clear water that's good for swimming. Penguins nest beneath the boardwalk, which is worth noting if you're visiting at dusk. The boardwalk extends about 4km in each direction, completely flat and suitable for wheelchairs, prams, or cycling. It's a straightforward walk with sea views the whole way. The playground features ship-themed equipment with ladders and slides, positioned on grass with a 360-degree view of the beach and town. A separate water play area sits at the other end. Facilities include picnic benches, toilets, and takeaway options across the road. Fish Frenzy is located nearby if you want fresh seafood. The beach attracts seagulls early morning, making it decent for bird photography. Parking and facilities are free. The spot caters to all ages and works well for picnics or fishing. Even at night, it's worth checking out for the penguins.
