BULLEKE-BEK PARK PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

A new park in the middle of Brunswick, squeezed in beside the train line among apartment developments, and a genuine asset to a dense pocket of the city. The playground has real variety, with a tree house, swings that have a local following, a moat and a water play stream that runs through the hotter months, plus a ping pong table, a community vegetable garden, undercover areas, picnic tables, an electric barbecue and a water fountain. There is a toilet, though it is often locked, and the block is due an upgrade. It is packed day and night, which shows: bins overflow, the barbecues are not always clean, the ping pong table and fountains have been tagged, and the grass drains poorly and turns muddy. Parking nearby is very difficult.
