BROMUS DAM CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

Bromus Dam Campground sits just off the highway near Norseman, offering one of those sprawling free camping experiences that Western Australia does particularly well. The dam itself provides welcome swimming on scorching summer days, while the surrounding area stretches wide enough that finding a secluded spot rarely proves difficult. Facilities lean decidedly basic: a single drop toilet (BYO paper), scattered rubbish bins, and several picnic tables with fire rings. The solid ground means even wet conditions won't bog down caravans, and Telstra signal reportedly holds strong for those needing connectivity. The campground's cleanliness stands out for this type of facility. The setting delivers picturesque views without the crowds, with minimal flies noted outside peak season. It functions well as both a quick lunch stop and multi-day camping base, particularly for those seeking space, simplicity, and easy highway access.
