Public BBQ

A large new playground in Whitlam, laid out in reference to the Blue Poles painting Gough Whitlam bought for the National Gallery. It is pitched mainly at children of about five to twelve, with a jungle gym linked by a rope walkway, a hamster wheel, swings, slides and varied terrain to explore, plus a water play pump that is the highlight for most. A small fenced section serves toddlers, though it has only one toddler swing. Barbecues, tables, benches, toilets, bins and drinking fountains are all on site, with shade sails over parts of the playground but few trees yet, so some equipment gets hot. The hilltop position gives superb mountain views and makes it very windy. Check where the car park is before you set out, as mapping apps miss it.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with the local council.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
