BLUE GUM PARK

Public BBQ

Blue Gum Park perches quietly above Proserpine, offering one of those unexpected rewards that make wandering worthwhile - a lovely vista stretching back towards Airlie Beach that transforms an otherwise modest patch of green into something rather special. The park itself is decidedly humble: a single picnic table and bench positioned to make the most of that view, surrounded by a pleasant grassy area that invites a quiet lunch break. The playground equipment tells a story of modest ambitions and reality's gentle intervention - a few slides, a somewhat theatrical wobbly bridge, and some toy diggers that have seen better days. It's the sort of place that works beautifully for a family with one small adventurer but might leave larger groups looking for more substantial entertainment. The absence of toilets means planning ahead, though the peaceful atmosphere and that persistent, gorgeous backdrop make it worth the minor inconvenience for those seeking a moment's respite with a view.
