BICENTENNIAL PARK

Public BBQ

Tamworth's Bicentennial Park stands as one of Australia's premier family playgrounds, where adventure equipment sprawls across thoughtfully designed zones for every age group. The centrepiece skywalk and flying fox captivate children for extended sessions, while mammoth slides and climbing structures create a landscape of endless exploration. Younger toddlers find their territory in dedicated areas with sandpits and age-appropriate equipment, whilst older children and teenagers discover challenges among the spinning platforms and diverse climbing frames. The water play area provides relief on warm days. Shaded barbecue areas and undercover spaces offer respite for adults, complemented by an on-site cafe. The park's unique character includes its cohabitation with a significant flying fox colony - thousands of bats roosting overhead add an unexpectedly educational dimension to visits. Parents consistently note the difficulty of extracting children at day's end, a reliable indicator of a playground's success.
