BETTY PRESTON RESERVE

Public BBQ

A tiny, serene playground on a quiet court, overlooked by a grand privately owned heritage mansion that gives the place its whole character. The equipment is simple and safe — a slide, two swings, a climbing frame and spring-mounted frog and truck — which makes it well suited to young children and not much use to older ones. Tables and seating are provided for a picnic, there are trees around the edges and a patch of grass to run on, and traffic is almost non-existent with only a handful of houses nearby. It is often completely empty. Dogs are not permitted. The Christmas lights display here is worth a look in December.
