BENTS BASIN CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

Just an hour's drive from Sydney, Bents Basin proves that sometimes the best escapes are hiding in plain sight. This gem offers everything a proper camping trip demands: well-maintained grass sites scattered around established fire pits, clean amenities with hot showers, and BBQ facilities that actually work. The real drawcard lies a leisurely five-minute stroll away - a swimming basin with sandy beach areas that transforms a simple camping trip into something rather special. The rangers maintain things beautifully, though you'll need to pack your own firewood and drinking water during busy periods. Sites aren't formally marked, so early arrivals snag the prime riverside spots. The gorge lookout walk provides excellent views for those seeking a brief adventure between swims. While it gets busy during peak times, the accessibility and quality facilities make this a reliable choice for families seeking a quick city escape without sacrificing comfort.
