BENJAFIELD PARK

Public BBQ

This space-themed playground stands out as possibly the best in Hobart, featuring excellent play equipment including a flying fox, two big tunnel slides, swings, and unique climbing and spinning activities. The design divides the area into distinct zones for different age groups, with particularly safe structures for younger children. The barbecue area is sheltered with tables, and the toilets are clean and well-maintained. Large grassy areas provide room to kick a ball, have a picnic, or relax on the lawn. The park sits close to shops and across from Vinnies. While the playground equipment is vibrant and well-protected, the park itself is somewhat bleak and could benefit from more trees, bushes, and cosy seating spots. The big slides lack windows which can be challenging for smaller kids. On busy Saturdays, the playground can feel too small for the crowd. No drinking water tap was spotted during a recent visit.
