BANKSIA PARK

Public BBQ

Banksia Park sits along the waterfront at Hope Island, offering one of those pleasant surprises where careful planning meets natural beauty. The well-maintained grounds feature a children's playground that proves reliably popular, while the expansive grass areas provide ample room for families to spread out without feeling crowded. The boat ramp draws a steady stream of weekend mariners, with thoughtfully designed trailer parking and convenient power points that suggest someone actually considered what boaters need. BBQ facilities anchor several picnic spots, though seating could be more abundant during busy periods. The waterside breeze provides natural air conditioning on warm Queensland days, and the scenery manages to be both peaceful and engaging. Toilets are available on-site. The park's generous size means it absorbs visitors well, maintaining a tranquil atmosphere even when reasonably populated. It's the sort of place that delivers exactly what the signage promises, which is rarer than it should be.
