BALRANALD LIONS PARK

Public BBQ

A large, well-kept park on the highway at the eastern edge of Balranald, and one of the better rest stops between Adelaide and Sydney. The lawn is green, manicured and free of bindis, with plenty of trees to sit under, though a few spots want more shade. The playground is new and suits most ages, if lacking something for bigger children. Toilets are open around the clock and cleaned each morning, unusually large and well fitted, with only one for each gender, and the new block has some unfinished carpentry. There is an electric barbecue, picnic seating and free parking at the front, with water fill points and caravan parking near the information centre behind. The ground goes soggy after rain. Shops are a short walk along the main street.
