BADEN POWELL CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

A large, well-kept campground on the Murray near Dwellingup, deep in the jarrah forest and about ten minutes' walk from the river crossing. Sites are heavily shaded, which is lovely and hard on solar panels, and each has its own picnic table, with more picnic areas around the grounds. The camp kitchens are good, with cooking facilities, water and washing sinks, and firewood is stacked under cover at the entrance. Toilets are long drops kept in decent order, and there are no showers. Walking trails run down to the river and bike tracks are close by, but swimming and floating on the Murray are what most people come for. There is no playground. Dogs on lead. No campfires between November and April, and the fees have risen enough to draw comment.
