ARIAH PARK CAMP GROUND

Public BBQ

A grassy, well-run camping ground on the edge of Ariah Park, looked after by volunteer caretakers with a reputation for being genuinely welcoming. Around two dozen large shaded powered sites plus unpowered ground, with water and sullage, at prices that have run anywhere from eight to twenty dollars a night. The camp kitchen is spotless and properly fitted out with a microwave, fridge, barbecue, crockery and cutlery, and there is a laundry with a washing machine by donation. Toilets and hot showers are clean. A playground, skate park, oval and tennis courts sit alongside, and the golf course is across the road. The town is a short walk, with a pub, bowling club, cafe and Foodworks. Watch for burrs in the grass and mosquitoes under the trees. Power keys come from the hotel.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
