Public BBQ

A large, scenic park at the base of Mount Coot-tha, laid out around a one-way loop road with grassy hills, mature trees and a small unfenced pond near the play area. Three or four shaded barbecue areas come with benches, including several older wood-fired units and two newer electric plates, and there is enough open lawn for a birthday party. The playground has a large climbing structure, two swing sets, forts and a fenced sandpit, aimed mostly at younger children; a high rope bridge has gaps wide enough to warrant close supervision, and the flying fox is out of service. A dog park sits hidden behind the main park, along with body-weight gym equipment. Toilets are at the Dean Street entrance, a fair walk from the playground, and are in poor shape pending a replacement block. Parking is spread along Dean and Wool Streets.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Brisbane council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Brisbane council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
