ANGUS NEILL RESERVE

Public BBQ

A well-kept seaside reserve on the Esplanade at Seacliff, opening straight onto Brighton beach with no barrier between the two, so keep an eye on children and expect wind off the water. Paths, toilet access and parking are all step-free. The toilets are the new automatic type on a ten-minute timer, and very clean. The children's play area includes water play, so pack a change of clothes. There is lawn enough for a game of footy or cricket even when it is busy, with barbecue facilities alongside. Shade is the catch: there are only two gazebos and they go early on a fine day, so bring your own or arrive at dawn. Parking is plentiful, though the bays are tight and fill on weekends. Two cafes are a short walk away.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
