AMITY POINT JETTY

Public BBQ

Amity Point Jetty reveals itself as one of those rare eastern seaboard gems where sunsets unfold dramatically over water rather than behind land. The evening ritual here is wonderfully predictable: dolphins appear near the jetty as the sun begins its descent, often joined by pelicans surveying the scene with practiced indifference. The jetty itself serves as both viewing platform and fishing headquarters, where locals pull in everything from bream to the occasional small tuna. Below the clear water, schools of tiny fish dart about, visible even to those peering down from above. Children particularly delight in scrambling across the rocky outcrops when jetty access becomes crowded. The adjacent playground and netted swimming area create a family-friendly atmosphere, though the toilet facilities feel surprisingly dim and dated for such a scenic location.
