ALEX CAMPBELL PARK

Public BBQ

Alex Campbell Park in Brymaroo proves that Queensland's smaller towns often harbour the most surprising treasures. The park's centrepiece - a Canberra bomber suspended dramatically overhead - transforms what could be an ordinary roadside stop into something genuinely fascinating. The aircraft's presence lends an unexpected gravitas to lunch preparations at the barbecue facilities below. The reasonably new toilet block speaks to recent improvements, though visitors should note the curious absence of rubbish bins - apparently removed at some point, leaving travellers to plan accordingly. The children's playground adds family appeal, while an information board helpfully details regional attractions for those inspired to explore further. Despite some maintenance quirks, the park succeeds in combining practical amenities with genuine historical interest.
