ALBERT RICHARDSON MEMORIAL PARK

Public BBQ

Albert Richardson Memorial Park turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that make a road trip worthwhile. The mature trees here create generous pockets of shade - essential on a warm Australian day - and the solid wooden picnic tables are sturdy enough to handle a proper family barbecue spread. What caught my attention was the old gold diggings area tucked away at the back, adding a touch of local history to the experience. The coffee van was a welcome sight, though I'd suggest bringing your own supplies if you're planning a full barbie session. The toilets were functional, if a bit tired-looking and could use a good scrub. This memorial green space serves its purpose beautifully as a travel break destination. There's something genuinely peaceful about the setting that makes you want to linger longer than planned.
