5 MILE CREEK RESERVE

Public BBQ

A narrow strip of parkland following Moonee Ponds Creek at Essendon, given over mostly to the shared bike and walking path that runs the length of it. The track is well maintained, with both hard and softer surfaces, and joins the wider network at Moreland Road and several other points along the way, which makes it a safe and easy ride with children. There is a picnic ground and a barbecue, and a small playground for younger ones, though the equipment is dated and due for renewal. It is a quiet, pretty stretch, particularly on a summer afternoon.
