Can I bring my own BBQ to parks in Melville?

<p>During <strong>Total Fire Bans</strong> in Western Australia:</p><ul><li><strong>Gas BBQs</strong> with enclosed flames are permitted (clear 5m around BBQ)</li><li><strong>Electric BBQs</strong> are permitted</li><li><strong>Solid fuel BBQs</strong> (charcoal, wood, Weber-style) are <strong>prohibited</strong></li></ul><p>Check fire bans at <a href="https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/total-fire-bans">Emergency WA</a> or call 1800 709 355.</p>

Can I book a BBQ facility for exclusive use?

<p>A booking relates to any organised activity scheduled within a City of Melville Park or Reserve.</p><p>Private functions (closed invitation) require booking and are not open to the general public.</p><p>Activities open to the general public are considered events, requiring an Events Package.</p>

How do I report a fault or issue with a BBQ facility?

If you encounter issues with a BBQ facility, please report them to Melville. Common issues include:

  • BBQ not working - not heating, ignition problems, gas issues
  • Damaged facilities - broken hotplates, damaged tables/shelters
  • Safety hazards - exposed wiring, structural damage
  • Cleanliness issues - excessive grease buildup, vandalism
